Jeroen2 days agoGreat place to stay for a U of I football weekend. Nothing fancy but much more pleasant and affordable considering the crowds and chaos of pre and post game Champaign. Easy drive to the festivities and return to a friendly staff, a comfy room and a tasty breakfast. We stayed overnight after a football game. Not far to travel from campus. A reasonable rate! Staff was friendly and room was clean and comfortable. It is a little tricky to get to the place, if you're using Google maps, as it still thinks there's a street to get to the place that is no longer there, but once you turn in on Enterprise Dr. from Frost Dr., you find the entrance pretty quickly. The concierge is knowledgeable about the area, its history, and he's pretty helpful in getting you to your room or helping you locate amenities in the facility. The elevator is not convenient as its all the way down one hallway past a couple heavy doors, and many of the rooms were left open, possibly to notify cleaning staff. These may not have been available for use at the time. The room itself is nice and has what looks like a small kitchenette and sink. The bathroom did not have a fan, but the place goes the extra mile to thank you, even with a first use thank you sticker on the tp roll. The desk area could be cleaner, but the area is well kept for the most part. TV has access to Roku and any streaming service you can think of, including an Anime movie/series channel. Breakfast is much better than other hotels I was at in recent weeks, with fresh fruit, juice, milk, hot foods, and packaged rations, if you're in a hurry. Maurz Attax13 days agoIllini inn Rantoul is that rare, unique hidden gem. At first glance you're traveling further away from the main area, and then boom... like something out of a budget hallmark revision of Stephen Kings "the shining"... Immediately greeted most times... [however staff might be away from the desk and in the midst of your wait, one of them will random appear (just kidding)]. The staff are wonderful, seems like a good group of individuals. The owner is a great gentleman and family man [Vaz], with an exceptional personality and array of knowledge, I've counted 5 or 6 other languages he speaks fluently other than English which is his native tongue. Oh don't miss breakfast!!! Out of 81 hotels in 10 months Im honestly impressed by breakfast! A meal i normal skipped Now Se'Ara (my pup) ensures I get her breakfastPosted on Booking
